Abigail Spanberger's husband, Adam Spanberger, has two decades of experience in various top tech companies in the United States.

Soon after graduating with a BS degree in Computer Science from the University of Virginia in 2002, Adam joined DCS Corporation as a software engineer and worked there for almost six years.

In February 2008, he joined ITT in Sterling, Virginia as a senior software engineer. During the three years with the company, Adam designed and implemented embedded software for handheld devices that communicate with the Iridium satellite network.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Adam then worked for the newly formed Exelis Inc., a global aerospace, information, and services company created as a spinoff of ITT's defense business into an independent, publicly traded company.

After Exelis got acquired by Harris Corporation for $4.75 billion in 2015, Spanberger continued his position as the Principal Embedded Engineer with his new employers.
