The 26-year-old athlete is a two-time light featherweight champion and has won the rooster weight twice. He was the first American to hold more than one black belt in the world championship. The proficient player won the Pan American Championship at rooster weight and was entitled to the World No-Gi Championship in 2015.
The Jiu-Jitsu practitioner switched teams and joined Caio Terra's organization in 2016. He won the UAEJJF World Pro as a black belt in the 62 kg weight class in 2017 and also became a world champion in the light feather. In 2018, he was again the winner of the World Championship.
